GwirVol and StreetGames kick off the summer season by launching sports grants!
GwirVol has teamed up with StreetGames to provide more sport volunteering opportunities in deprived communities.
The goal of the new GwirVol StreetGames grant scheme is to boost the number of young people volunteering whilst providing more sport volunteering opportunities in deprived communities. The GwirVol StreetGames grant is targeted at volunteers aged 16-25. The grants offer funding up to £2000 to help develop structured sports development programmes. Any type of activity will be supported, from hockey or football to cheerleading and figure skating! The GwirVol StreetGames grant gets extra points in regards to what they're offering because it's not just funding that the scheme is putting forward. The grants are also supplying access to training, support, mentoring and also includes access to awards and qualifications for volunteers. These awards are the Community Sports Leadership Awards, and the Millennium Volunteer Awards. There is no finish line for the volunteers and what they can achieve with this scheme. GwirVol and StreetGames knows that this will make a positive impact on deprived communities, as the scheme intends to tackle the difficulties for sport fanatics to reach their full potential in these deprived regions.
