Hi, I’m Victoria. I’m Funky Dragon’s South Wales Development Manager and I’ve been working here since May 2006.
As a Development Manager, I manage a team of 3 Development Workers in South Wales whose job it is to be the main contact for each youth forum in South Wales (as well as doing loads of other things too). I work closely with them.
I’m responsible for working with Funky Dragon’s Grand Council to plan and organise residential weekends and the Annual General Meeting (AGM):
At residential weekends, Funky Dragon’s members are consulted about lots of issues which affect them, before the Welsh Assembly Government turns them into policy. They also discuss issues which concern other young people in their areas, make friends with young people from all over Wales and have loads of fun!! The AGM is held at the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff and is the opportunity for Funky Dragon members to tell ministers at the Welsh Assembly Government what the young people they represent really think.
I’m also responsible for finding qualifications; so that the things young people learn about at Funky Dragon are recognised.
When I’m not working at Funky Dragon I like to spend my time at the beach, water skiing and learning to sail, so I really like being based in the Swansea office, so close to the coast!
